Transition Plan
Starting in 2009, SWB Staff & Board initiated an ambitious Transition Plan. The goal was to explore how to best set the organization up for success while ensuring all stakeholders and partners were part of the process. The Transition is now coming to an end we're excited to share some of the process and outcomes with you. Below you'll see a few models that have helped guide the journey. Inspired from our good friends at Framework Foundation, we've implemented a "Scorecard" system to help manage our transition and growth into the future. We look forward to your thoughts and feedback!!
Organizational Scorecards
The "Scorecards" were developed by the Framework Foundation. We've added a few of our own little bells and whistles so that it functions as our Strategic Plan, Business Plan, Risk Management Plan and Evaluation Framework. We've made this ALL transparent so that you see what our Board and staff sees. Not only does this make it easier for us (no more searching through old emails or searching the Server), but the more we share, the quicker we can get to achieving our charitable objectives.

Green = On track. Everything running smoothly.
Yellow = Some caution required.
Red = Requires serious work and attention. Significant risk if not properly addressed.

Transition HR Plan
Below is how we see how the New Hires happening over the course of the year. The Yellow Circles represent "NEW" hirings. You can also see that Model shows SWB organized into FOUR Departments (Operations, Initiatives, Internal, External) and TWO core Strategies:

Community Model
Following a training in the "Art of Hosting" in November 2010, SWB staff and Board developed a working model to describe how we see the organization situated within the broader non-profit sector and Youth Organizing Movement. Essentially we see SWB playing a critical role in supporting and housing the incredible work young educators and learning communities are leading.
